Johana Hošták
I’m a doula, lactation consultant, and mama to two boys.
I believe that every woman deserves to feel supported, heard, and cared for as she finds her own way through pregnancy, birth, and the early days of motherhood.
I’m here to offer a calm, nurturing presence and a safe space where you can feel informed, confident, and connected to yourself and your baby.
I offer antenatal preparation, continuous birth support, postpartum care, parent support groups, and placenta encapsulation.

About me
I am a mother to two wonderful boys and a wife to an amazing man. I have had the privilege of experiencing two completely different pregnancies, and two very different births.
My first son was born in a small hospital. My second son was born at home, with my husband and our older son by my side.
I have always looked forward to becoming a mother. I still remember the first time I saw a mother carrying her baby in a sling and how much I longed for the day when I would carry my own babies.
I chose a gentle and attachment parenting, something I truly enjoy and that has become a natural part of our family life. Both of my boys were carried in slings and carriers, and to this day they are both big fans of co-sleeping. I have also experienced tandem breastfeeding.
My dream of becoming a doula began taking shape even before I had children. I have always been drawn to working with children — I worked as an au pair in England and volunteered at a school with children with special needs. These experiences taught me how important a support is when you have a family.
After the birth of my first son, I finally found the courage to take the first step towards making this dream a reality. I initially trained as a lactation consultant and later began my training as a doula.
Along the way, I discovered work that I find incredibly meaningful, fulfilling, and deeply rewarding.
I believe that learning never really ends, so I continue to expand my knowledge and education. In 2022, I completed the Paramana Doula course with French obstetrician Michel Odent and doula Liliana Lammers. I have also attended a course on caring for a woman’s belly during the postpartum period, led by midwife Kristýna Zemánková, as well as a workshop on babywearing at the Vatanai studio. In 2024, I was also part of the Respekt k porodu family festival.
I would be honoured to support you throughout pregnancy, during birth, and in the postpartum period. I can also support you during breastfeeding and show you how to safely and comfortably carry your baby in a sling or baby carrier.
I work with English-speaking couples. I can help bridge communication between families and maternity staff, help you navigate the Czech maternity care system, and assist with translating hospital documents.
I believe that being a doula is a profession that should be approached with love, humility, and deep respect. These are values I try to bring into every family I work with.
I believe in a gentle, compassionate, and respectful approach, while always honouring your wishes, your choices, and your individual journey.
I know that every family is different. Every family has its own wishes, its own needs, and its own unique path.
And it would be a true honour to walk alongside you on yours.
